DNS

The internet's phone book that connects your domain to your hosting and email.

The Domain Name System translates your domain into the numeric address of your server. DNS records also tell the world where to deliver your email (MX records) and prove you own the domain (TXT records).

Changes can take minutes to a few hours to spread. Most website and email outages after a move are DNS mistakes.
