SSL certificate

What puts the padlock and https:// on your site.

An SSL (technically TLS) certificate encrypts the connection between your visitor and your site. Browsers label sites without one as "Not secure", which scares customers away.

Free certificates from Let's Encrypt are standard on good hosting. You should never pay extra for basic SSL.
