Images are usually the problem

The three rules
Serve modern formats such as WebP or AVIF, size images to the largest dimension actually displayed, and lazy load everything below the fold while eagerly loading the hero.

Descriptive alt text serves screen reader users and gives search engines context. Describe the content, not the file name.
